IF you are in Tralee town on Saturday, March 9, don’t be surprised if you are approached by a parishioner inviting you to visit St John’s Church.

The Tralee Pastoral Area which includes: St. John’s parish; St. Brendan’s parish and The Spa parish, is hosting a ‘Homecoming’ event for Lent.

According to a spokesperson from the Diocese of Kerry, “the aim is to reconnect people with God as they begin their journey through Lent. The hope is that people will visit St. John’s Church to light a candle or say a prayer and perhaps this will lead to a sense of homecoming this Lent.”

The event runs from 12 noon to 12 midnight, with the afternoon focusing on family and the evening focusing on youth.  Life is not always easy and with this in mind, leaflets on the various helping organisations will be available on the day.
