A TRALEE florist will bring cheer to people around town next Monday when she takes part in the Irish Lonely Bouquet initiative.

Leona Fitzmaurice of Every Occasion Florist will place 20 bouquets in different locations in town for people to find and take home with them — or if they like, to pass them on to someone they feel would enjoy them.

“A smile is priceless and if we can help make someone’s day, our job here at Every Occasion Florist is done,” said Leona, who is now in a new premises in Boherbee, adjacent to The Ballymac Bar.

The bouquets could be left anywhere throughout the day said Leona — from a parking meter to a local monument. “If they fine one, we would like people to send a photo on social media with the hashtag #irishlonelybouquet” said Leona.

The Irish Lonely Bouquet is an initiative by Irish Florists who have come together to help promote and support flower shops and florists in Ireland.

“Using the hashtag #irishlonelybouquet, we hope this will help spread our work nationwide!” she added. So look out for those flowers to brighten up your Monday morning.
