Less Than Five New COVID Cases In Tralee LEA In 14-Day Period Up To Monday

THERE were less than five new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Tralee Electoral Area in the 14 day period up to Monday, July 5, according to data available on the Government’s COVID-19 data hub.

There were also less than five cases in the Corca Dhuibhne and Castleisland Electoral Areas in the same period (all three areas have a 14-day incidence rate of less than five cases per 100,000 of the population).

Elsewhere, Killarney Electoral Area saw 49 new cases, a current 14-Day Incidence Rate of 165.5 per 100k of the population, above the national average of 117.7 per 100k of the population as of last Monday.

There were six cases in the Listowel Electoral Area (a rate of 20.9 per 100,000) and 19 cases in the Kenmare Electoral Area (a rate of 75.8 per 100,000).

    The numbers of infects is good news due to the fact that fatalities are rare now due to younger people being infected, this means that herd immunity is now in progress.
