IT wasn’t a normal Wednesday lunchtime at Kerry College Clash campus.

Acclaimed musician Liam O’Connor paid a visit to the college (formerly known as KCFE) to bring some positivity to students and to be fair he got them on their feet.

Accompanied by musicians from the college, he leapt up on tables and got students to sing along to ‘Zombie’ by the Cranberries and ‘Dirty Old Town’.

It was all part of the College’s activities to mark Positive Mental Health Week as Principal Mary Lucey explained.

“We believe in supporting and looking after our students from an academic, social, emotional, and mental health point of view. There’s nothing better than an atmosphere of positivity and Liam O’Connor certainly embodies that,” she said.

“On Thursday, out music students under the mentorship of our teacher Miranda Cournane, Loz McCarthy are performing at concert in the Mall from 12.30pm to 2.30pm and we’re inviting all to come along to the event to mark World Mental Health Day,” she added.
