Lions Club Presents €15,000 Towards Mini-Bus For Mount Eagle Lodge

Sean Cooke of Tralee Lions Club presents a cheque for €15,000 to Margaret Moore of Mount Eagle Lodge to go towards the cost of a minibus.

PRESIDENT of Tralee Lions Club, Sean Cooke, presented a cheque for €15,000 towards the purchase of a Mini Bus for the residents of Mount Eagle Lodge in Tralee on Thursday.

Mount Eagle Lodge, Tralee is a day and residential service for adults with intellectual disabilities. The vehicle will be used for the transport of the residents.

Tralee Lions Club has been associated with Mount Eagle Lodge for over 30 years and some Lions members still entertain the residents every Monday evening with supper, music and sing song.

“It has been a highlight for the residents for many years,” said Margaret Moore, Manager of Mount Eagle Lodge. “We really appreciate all the help we receive from the Lions Club.”

Tralee Lions Club will be organising a very important fund-raising Table Quiz in aid of The Coronary Care Unit and High Dependency Unit in University Hospital Kerry in the Meadowlands Hotel on Thursday, March 12 at 8pm. Tickets available on the night.

Tralee Lions Club was formed over 50 years ago and their motto is “We Serve”. It is about helping others and improving the lives of those most in need in the community.

The Club meets monthly on the Second Tuesday of every month from October through to May at the Meadowlands Hotel.
