Dr Sarah O’Halloran

A TRALEE woman has composed a song paying homage to the original Rose of Tralee song, just in time for the festival.

Dr Sarah O’Halloran is a composer who currently lives in the Washington, D.C. area.  ‘Like A Rose of Tralee’ pays homage to the beloved 19th century song re-imagining its story from the perspective of the rose herself.

Dr O’Halloran has studied with composers including Matthew Burtner, Judith Shatin, Ted Coffey, Michael Alcorn, and Ron Quivila.

Her music has been performed at international events including MATA Interval (New York), the International Computer Music Festival (New York 2010, Ljubljana 2012, Perth 2013), Gaudeamus (Netherlands), Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival (UK),  Ostrava Days (Czech Republic), and Sonic Circuits (Silverspring, MD).
