The service underwent a rigorous in-depth assessment to measure their performance against the EFQM (European Foundation for Quality Management) principles.

On receipt of the award Jacqui Browne, Chair of Kerry CIS said: “The Gold Star Service Excellence Award focuses on the impact of service delivery on customers. It is a testament to the commitment and dedication of all concerned in Kerry Citizens Information to have achieved this award”.

Last year Kerry CIS responded to 26,612 queries from 19,042 callers.

The Citizens Information Service provides an Information, Advice and Advocacy service to members of the public who have queries in relation to their rights and entitlements.

They cover a broad range of topic areas including social welfare, housing, consumer issues, employment, education, health, local services and many more. The service is free, independent, and confidential.  The difficult economic climate means that more people than ever are availing of the service.
