Kerry County Council’s Tourism Development Unit has announced details of the 2016 Community Tourism Diaspora Initiative.

Funding is available through the scheme to provide support to local and community festival and event organisers that attract overseas visitors and harness links with the Irish Diaspora.

Kerry County Council is delighted to work with IPB Insurance and Fáilte Ireland and in co-operation with the Destination Kerry Tourism Forum in providing this very worthwhile scheme.

This is the third year of the scheme which emerged from the success of The Gathering in 2013. Last year many events in the county received support which appealed to both locals and overseas visitors alike.

Kerry County Council is seeking applications for support from local community groups. Please note the closing date for receipt of applications March 11, no later than 5pm.

Applications and further information can be downloaded from http://www.kerrycoco.ie/en/allservices/tourism/community/ and are available from the Tourism Development  Unit, Kerry County Council, Áras an Chontae, Rathass, Tralee.
