Local Groups Get Over €22,000 In Community Funding From Council

Rahoonane Community Centre

Rahoonane Community Centre has received €4,000 in Community Funding from Kerry County Council.

OVER €22,000 in Community Funding was approved by the Tralee Municipal District of Kerry County Council on Monday, for nine projects submitted after the closing date for applications.

In all, €253,000 is available to the Tralee Municipal District from the Community Fund, with €25,000 retained for the Christmas Lights in Tralee,  €35,000 for Tralee Sports Complex Support and €33,750 for funding for additional applications/Leader co-funding applications.

A figure of €159,250 is allocated to individual projects.

The community project allocations for the most recent applicants, approved on Monday, ranged in size from €6,000 down to €500.

• Kerry Adolescent Counselling Service – €1,000

• Cois Lí Management Company – €750

• Kerry Action For Development Education – €1,500

• Tralee International Resource Centre – €500

Total Allocated – €22,250
