Local Liverpool Fans Show Generosity By Helping The Irish Heart Foundation

TRALEE’S bars were packed for the European Champions League Final earlier this month, but one pub was in particular was full of Liverpool fans.

O’Donnells Bar and Restaurant in Mounthawk was the venue for a special fundraiser organised by the Kerry Liverpool Supporters Club on June 1. It was a memorable night for Reds as Liverpool beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0, sparking wild celebrations in the bar.

Leo Byrne organised the event in aid of the Irish Heart Foundation and everyone arriving into the function room in the bar donated €5. In return they received a ticket for a raffle for with many prizes including a signed jersey from Liverpool legend Jan Molby as well as free finger food at half-time.

In the end, €1,000 was raised and Anne O’Riordan, Regional Manager with the Irish Heart Foundation was in Tralee on Saturday to collect the cheque.

Anne Riordan was delighted with the efforts of the Liverpool fans and said she hopes it raises awareness of the Irish Heart Foundation’s current campaign, Hands For Life, which is a Community CPR Training programme.
