A NEW children’s book written by a local man will be launched at Tralee Library on Saturday at 2.30pm.

‘Alana Rabbit Goes To The Circus’ is the third book in the Alana series written by Joe Enright from Alderwood Road and illustrated this time by Tralee woman Ciara Maher.

The book was written during lockdown and details the many adventures of the titular rabbit, including a trip to the dentist and a bullying incident, which children might relate to and help to overcome fears and difficulties.

The book has been finished for almost two years but, with COVID restrictions, Joe decided to delay the launch until this summer. Sadly, Joe’s sister Angela passed away in June, so Joe postponed it again.

Now he has decided to launch the book on Saturday with some funds raised from sales going towards the Kerry Cork Health Link Bus, which was used by Angela during her battle with cancer.

The book, which is dedicated to Angela, will be launched by Radio Kerry’s Deirdre Walsh. It is available to buy in Commane’s Bookshop in Rock Street and of course at the launch on Saturday at 2.30pm.
