WHILE about 30,000 women will invade Listowel’s ‘Island’ track on Friday, September 19, the lads also have an incentive to spruce themselves up for the Races.
A day dedicated to fashion conscious men will take on Thursday, September 18, sponsored again by Lyons of East River, with a prize fund of €1,300.
“Sharp Dressed Men is what we’ll be looking for, suit and jackets, classic or casual,” said Pat Lyons, sponsor, and owner of Lyons of East River, Mens, Ladies & Home Interiors.
“We are delighted to confirm The Best Dressed Man competition has been permanently changed to the Thursday of the Races as well, thereby giving two days of back-to-back fashion and fun for everyone”.

The judges will be out on the course looking for finalists from the first race and the winner will be announced in the parade ring after the 4th race.
The 7 day Listowel Harvest Racing Festival, is from Sunday, September 14 to Saturday, September 20 and highlights include the Guinness Kerry National Handicap Steeplechase (Grade A) Chase on Wednesday 17th; the €40k Guinness Handicap Hurdle on Thursday 18th, Chic Boutique Ladies Day on Friday 18th and the Listowel Races Supporters Club Sponsored Race ‘The Slan Abhaile” on Saturday 20th.
