THIS latest rainfall radar graph from Met Eireann doesn’t make for happy viewing, even if Kerry is bathed in the county colours.
Kerry is stuck in the epicentre of a heavy downpour of rain that is set to continue for the rest of the afternoon.
In fact Met Eireann issued a status orange weather alert and are warning that rainfall may become thundery with surface flooding in some areas.
Valentia Observatory, has recorded 43mm of rain today which is the second highest level in Ireland behind Sherkin Island in Cork with 48mm.
Further rain is expected this evening, but it will gradually clear through the south west.
Over the weekend, there won’t be too much respite however with the outlook set to remain unsettled though not as bad as today.
