A BALLYMAC woman was thrilled on Sunday night when she won a national award in Dublin for her creativity in a hairdressing colour competition.

Lorraine Horan is the manager of House Of Glamour on Castle Street and she was one of five finalists from all over Ireland — out of hundreds of entrants — in the Milkshake Creative Vision Live at The Wright Venue in Swords.

At the end of the night, it was Lorraine’s name that was called out as the Overall Winner, much to her delight and that of about 15 friends and colleagues who travelled with her.

“I was over the moon, I didn’t expect it at all,” said Lorraine, who has been working in House of Glamour for the past two years. She thanked her model, Emilia Jonutyte and Lyndsey Kelly who was makeup artist on the night.

Lorraine is now the regional finalist for Ireland and will be entered into a competition with the finalists from the UK to win an all-expenses paid trip to Rome to the international Milkshake hair show next year.
