FIRST we had Banna being included in the Top 10 beaches in Ireland earlier today and now another scenic attraction, this time ‘west of the bridge’, has come in for high praise from a major English newspaper.

Brandon Bay has been named amongst the top 24 walking routes in Europe in a recent article in the ‘Telegraph Travel’, in the heady company of the Alps and the Somme walk.

The article is effusive in its praise for the route and the area in general as it describes it as a ‘Dingle Peninsula delight’.

It invites you to take a stroll along the eight-mile stretch of the Maharees sandspit beside Brandon Bay and soak up the beautiful scenery on offer with the towering presence of Mount Brandon always on hand to leave you in awe.

You are warned to expect superb beach walking, stunning backdrops and a route that will (in a good way!) leave you breathless.

It is in esteemed company in the prestigious list with ‘The Bangor Trail’ in County Mayo, stunning walks through the Alps in Switzerland and ‘The Somme Walks’ in France.
