Man Arrested In Connection With Stabbing Incident In Tralee

A MAN was arrested late last night in connection with the stabbing incident in Moyderwell, Tralee yesterday.

He is being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act in Killarney Garda Station at the moment.

A man in his 60s was stabbed on the street outside Tralee Library at around 2pm yesterday.

The victim suffered several stab wounds and was brought to University Hospital Kerry and, while his injuries are serious, they are not thought to be life-threatening, according to gardai.

The suspect is thought to have left Moyderwell after the incident, travelling on foot towards Ballymullen and into the Town Park.

Gardai say a number of people have come forward to help with the investigation and have helped enormously, but they are asking for anyone with any other information or can help with the suspect’s movements after the incident, to get in touch with them on 066-7102300 or call to Tralee Garda Station.
