Man Arrested In Relation To Burglary In North Kerry

Gardaí have arrested and charged a man in relation to a burglary in Listowel back in January.

On the morning of January 14 Gardaí responded to a burglary at a house in Lartigue village that occurred overnight.

The owner informed Gardaí that an oil burner, which was attached to the rear of the property, was cut from the wall and taken.

Listowel Gardaí carried out house to house enquiries and gathered CCTV from the area.

As a result, a car and a possible suspect were identified. Gardaí were unable to locate this man at the time as he was believed to have left the jurisdiction.

On Saturday, August 15, Gardaí from Listowel were on patrol when they came across the man, aged in his 30s, who is believed to have been involved in the incident.

He was detained at Listowel Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 and has since been charged.

He is due to appear before Tralee District Court on September 3, 2020 at 10.30am.
