Eric Leahy – pictured before the start of the Tralee Half Marathon in March – who died this morning.
THE man who was found dead this morning in the Pembroke Court area has been named locally as Eric Leahy.
Mr Leahy (35) was found at Pembroke Court, just off Pembroke Street, shortly after 3am.
Emergency services attended the scene but efforts to resuscitate Mr Leahy were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardai say they are treating it as a sudden death and foul play is not suspected. A post-mortem examination is taking place at Kerry General Hospital.
It is understood Mr Leahy struggled with addiction problems but he was also a member of the local Born To Run Club and recently ran the Tralee Half Marathon in March.
