There will be guest speakers on the day, including psychologist Tony Humphreys along with the founder of Pieta House, Joan Freeman. The exhibition will also feature over 40 information stands by organisations including Talbot Grove, Console, Living Links, South West Counselling, Kerry Rape Crisis and Sexual Abuse Centre and the KDYS.

“The concept of the exhibition is to make people aware of all the help that is available. This year, we are adding practitioners of therapies that are known to reduce stress and, also, courses available to give people experiencing mental unwellness the tools to help themselves,” said Deirdre Fee, Chairperson of ‘Be Aware, Prevent Suicide’.

The exhibition has free admission with all events being free of charge also. The exhibition will be running from 12.30pm to 6.30pm that evening with  the times of the main talks being available below:

• Dr Humphrys, 2pm.

• Joan Freeman, 3.30pm.

• Neil Kelders, 5.30pm.

There will also be workshops on the day that will offer help and guidance to parents who feel that their children may be going through a hard or distressing time with these taking place at 1pm, 3pm and 4.30pm. The workshop will focus on what parents can do to mind themselves to enable young people to look after themselves.
