Mercy Mounthawk Under 15 boys and coaches after winning the Subway All-Ireland Schools U15A Cup final today in Dublin.
TRALEE has new All-Ireland champions thanks to the exploits of Mercy Mounthawk basketballers this afternoon.
After some disappointments over the past few week, the Under 15A boys side went to the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght today and won the Subway All-Ireland Schools final.
They beat Malahide in the semi-final and set up a clash with Galway side St Joseph’s College Bish, which they eventually won by 45 to 28.

Their coach, John Dowling, was delighted with the hard work that the boys put in to win the cup.
“After losing a final and two semis over the past few weeks, today makes it all worthwhile. We were underdogs coming up here, but the lads played really well and deserved the win,” said John.
It wasn’t the only win for a Kerry side as Presentation Castleisland were also crowned All-Ireland Champions winning the U14A Girls Subway All-Ireland Schools final, beating Scoil Chriost Ri Portlaoise by 56 to 27. Well down to both teams and enjoy the celebrations.
