TRANSITION year students in Mercy Mounthawk secondary school explored the universe on Monday.

SkyDome a mobile planetarium visited the school and allowed students the chance interact with planets, stars, galaxies and other objects in our universe.

The SkyDome can hold up to 45 people at a time and accommodate 200 students in a single day. Because of 360 degree experience of the SkyDome it helps students learn astronomy concepts instantly.

The students took in the sights of the galaxy while lying on their backs in the large dome for a 50 minute session. The dome travels around schools all over the country. It is inflatable and for indoor use only, it measures 7×7 metres.
