MERCY MOUNTHAWK will host its first ever 5k colour run on Friday November 20, as part of the school’s health promotion week.

Transition year students are the core organisers of the run which will see students set off all in white and get doused in multi-coloured powdered paint with every kilometre they complete.

“By the end the students will be a rainbow of colours which will show the diversity we have here in Mercy Mounthawk,” said Olivia Dineen, teacher.

Teachers and students see the run as an ideal way to promote the schools ideals.

“Our theme this year in the school is ‘ideals to live by’. We believe that health, well being, diversity, positivity, inclusivity and fun are ideals we like to promote here,” she said.

The 5k run will set off from Mercy Mounthawk out the Bracker O’Regan Road, down by Monavalley and heading back by the Casement railway station to Mounthawk walkway.
