WIND and rain will be the order of the day in Kerry as Met Éireann updates its warnings.

A Status Yellow rainfall warning was announced for Kerry tonight, to take effect from midnight for all of Friday and Friday night. There’s 30 to 40mm of rainfall expected with risk of spot flooding, especially on coasts and hills.

A Status Yellow wind warning comes into effect in Kerry from 5am on Friday until 6am on Saturday morning. Southwest to west winds will reach mean speeds of 50 to 65 km/h with gusts of 80 to 110 km/h. Along exposed Atlantic coasts these values may be exceeded for a while and with very high seas this will give the risk of coastal flooding.
