It’ll be cold and frosty next week.

THIS is a sign that Met Eireann are confident we’re going to be pretty cold for the next week.

A Status Yellow Weather Advisory has been issued for Ireland as exceptionally cold weather is forecast for next week with significant wind chill and severe frosts.

Disruptive snow showers are expected from Tuesday onwards, particularly in the east and southeast. The warning is valid from today until Friday, March 2 at 12 noon.

Given the likelihood of extremely cold conditions, the Kerry Local Coordination Team met this evening at County Buildings to assess the situation.

The meeting included representatives from Kerry County Council, An Garda Síochána and the Emergency Services. The team will assess the situation again on Monday and will be monitoring the situation closely.

Meanwhile, around these parts, Saturday will be dry with bright or sunny spells. It’ll be cold though (obviously!), with highest temperatures of 7 to 8 degrees in a moderate southeast wind.
