HERE we go again.

After the horrendous weather we’ve had for nearly two weeks now, there’s no sign of settled conditions returning soon.

Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow Rainfall warning for Kerry, Clare, Connacht, Longford and Donegal this morning for a 24 hour period. Heavy rainfall is expected through Wednesday into Wednesday night, with 25 to 40mm expected.

Localised flooding is likely as ground is saturated at the moment and river levels are elevated following recent heavy rainfall. It’s also set to be very windy for most of Wednesday. The warning is valid from 4am on Wednesday to 4am on Thursday.

The outlook isn’t great for the rest of the week, with a brief respite from the rain on Thursday before it returns in earnest on Friday. The weekend is looking showery and windy, but also with some bright spells. Unsettled again so.
