The cover of ‘Time To Talk’.

WITH the Christmas shopping season in full swing, Kerry Independent TD Michael Healy-Rae will be hoping to sell some of his books as gifts this Saturday.

He will be in O’Mahony’s Bookshop on Castle Street to sign copies of ‘Time To Talk — Stories From The Heart Of Ireland’ which went on sale last month.

The book is described as “neither a manifesto nor a memoir”.  He speaks about the biggest regret of his life – he didn’t have time to talk when somebody needed him most – he vowed never to stop talking and listening, and really hearing what people were trying to say.

It’s a collection of true stories in the tradition of the great Kerry storytellers. You can ask him about it this Saturday at 12noon.

I am a big fan of this Kerry Independent TD Michael Healy-Rae.

As far as I’m concerned the Electoral (Amendment) (Dáil Constituencies) Act 2013 was the best thing that happened to the North Kerry constituency as we Tralee people got our hands on this previously South Kerry constituency only Independent politician.

I like to think, the Kerry Independent TD Michael Healy-Rae’s personality was to big to be kept to South Kerry alone and that was the real reason behind the 2013 Electoral Amendment 🙂

I vote for him every time as I know he lives by his word to “never to stop talking and listening, and really hearing what people were trying to say” and in politics that is a rare thing and he is a rare breed.

This Kerry Independent TD Michael Healy-Rae is what he is and fights his corner with passion, vigour and conviction. Just, like his late father Jackie Healy-Rae did before him.

I am sure our Kerry storyteller and Independent TD Michael Healy-Rae’s book will make for an interesting read this Christmas.

I wish him all the best 🙂
