Mick O’Dwyer To Be Honoured With Civic Reception

HE’S Kerry’s most loved GAA figure so it’s not before time that Kerry County Council has decided to honour Mick O’Dwyer with a civic reception.

The reception will be hosted by the Council and held in the Council Chambers, County Buildings, Tralee on Monday next, March 12, at 1.30pm.

Mick O’Dwyer excelled as a player for Kerry winning four All-Irelands in his career on the field. He managed Kerry between 1974 and 1989 winning eight All-Ireland championships. He went on to manage Kildare, Laois, Wicklow and Clare.

The great man was the subject of an acclaimed documentary screened on RTE in January. The hosting of the reception was proposed by Mike Kennelly, Listowel Municipal District Councillor.
