Sponsored by Foleys Spar, Milltown

This Week in the Coiste na nÓg:

Well done to our U6, U7 Boys and U8 Girls teams who all received their end of year medals this week as they sign off for the end of the year. We cannot wait to see all of the boys and girls back next year and don’t forget to tell them to keep practicing all the amazing skills they learned all year.

Well done to all of the amazing coaches, covid supervisors and anyone who helped out this year. A special word for team managers Katie, Trevor, Jono and Deirdre who were chief organisers for their respective teams and done a fantastic job.

Our U9 team had a set of fantastic games against neighbouring club Keel on a fantastic Sunday morning in Milltown. All the teams played some excellent football and our U9s will host Listry on Thursday evening before their big end of year blitz next Saturday.

U9 – End of Year Blitz

The Under 9 end of year blitz promises to be a big occasion next week with five visiting teams coming to Paddy Burke Memorial Park from 11am – 3pm this coming Saturday the 16th of October. All the teams will bring 3 teams each to join our own 3 U9 teams on the day. The Teams that will visit are:

St Josephs Doora Barafield (Clare), Adare (Limerick), Castlehaven (Cork) along with Kerry sides Austin Stacks, Killcummin and our own Milltown/Castlemaine. We look forward to welcoming all the sides and the Killorglin Pipe Band who will parade the teams around the pitch before playing our national anthem to start the day.

There are lots of connections between our visiting teams and our own club. St Josephs Doora Barafield club member Colm Ryan of Kilfillum Piggery just outside Milltown here in Kerry and up in Clare too has been an fantastic supporter of our clubs field development project and we welcome him and his club, a warm welcome to former Milltown/Castlemaine player Fionnan Kelliher will bring his club Adare back to his home place a return visit of a fantastic day out a few years ago for our juvenile teams, we look forward to greeting West Cork side Castlehaven also making the good trip up from the south coast and to the Kerry sides Killcummin whose Senior Coach is too course the former Milltown/Castlemaine player Willie Maher and Austin Stacks Senior and U9 coach Wayne Quinlan is also a former Milltown/Castlemaine senior coach. Our our U9s have had great games against both of the Kerry clubs attending over the past couple of years.

Join us from 11am until 3pm next Saturday 16th October for what is sure to be a fantastic day at Paddy Burke Memorial Park.

Our U11 team hosted Cordal this evening at Paddy Burke Memorial Park and played some fantastic football in the autumn sunshine. Well done to all the players for showing great teamwork, skill and energy.
