News Update:

Mid Kerry Minors:

Well done to the Mid Kerry U15 team who got a great win over North Kerry in Churchill Sunday morning after a fantastic contest in this rescheduled match.

The wind and rain put this game back a week but Mid Kerry hit the ground running and with the help of a green flag held a 3 point lead at half-time.

The second half saw more goals and a great contest was to finish up with the win and a place in the County championship final for Mid Kerry the final score 3-16 to 1-16

Well done to the entire panel and all the Milltown Castlemaine players involved in the set up Dara Hogan, Cian O Brien, Tristan Jasinski  Damien O Connor, Liam O Dowd, Eoghan Bolger, Aaron Dinham and Gearoid Quirke and to Ian Twiss who is part of the management team

Well done to North Kerry on a great game and the very best of luck to Mid Kerry Gaa in the final

Thanks from Clubs and the Community

Everyone at Milltown/Castlemaine GAA Club is delighted to such wonderful use being made of the new facilities at Paddy Burke Memorial Park. This week we were most grateful to receive such kind words in correspondence from the various clubs, teams and community groups able to avail of the grounds, our walkway and social area in the past few weeks.

Thank you sincerely to MKL Gaels for their kind words for the use of the social area and training facilities as the MKL senior ladies prepare forward to represent Kerry in Munster Junior Championship in the coming weeks. Everyone at Milltown/Castlemaine GAA wishes the MKL Seniors the very best of luck in the competition, make sure to follow our social media as we share the latest updates on their progress.

A sincere thank you also to South Kerry GAA and their Secretary Jimmy Musgrave for taking the time to offer their thanks in their correspondence after their County Championship win over Feale Rangers in Milltown. Thank you for your wonderful feedback about the playing surface, our welcoming stewards and facilities. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome the South Kerry Team in the future for further championship action.

We would also like to offer sincere thanks to the 3rd Kerry Milltown Scout Group for their kind words on their social media pages after having lots of halloween fun in the clubs social area. We are thrilled to see another group within our community able to make such wonderful use of fantastic new facilities at Paddy Burke Memorial Park.

This Week in the Coiste na nÓg:

A big thanks to Garry Murphy and his U11 coaches for putting together such a fantastic tournament, the U11 Blitz to finish the year. Garry gave thanks to everyone after the games were finished on Sunday morning and the teams were all given trophy’s and medals

Garry paid thanks to the coaches, Covid supervisors and the parents for being such a huge support throughout the year and complimented the players on their exemplary behaviour and fantastic ability they showed throughout the year. With a special word also to Adam Scanlon, Linus Óg Burke and Sean Hogan who were available to the team all year to referee games whenever called upon

The players showed fantastic skill, spirit and ability in this mornings finals with one final going to extra time and the other final decided by a single point. Again Head Coach Garry Murphy paid tribute to the players saying he was lucky to be coach of such a great group.

The very first U10 side Garry coached a number of years ago was the side senior Player Cillian Burke playing in it. Garry congratulated Cillian on fantastic progress he had made as he handed the future stars their medals and it was very fitting to see both of his younger brothers contest an excellent final.

Thank you sincerely to everyone that helped out with the morning, once again as with all our teams there were a fantastic amount of volunteers making it all happen.
