Registration Day and Football Gear Swap Shop

It’s that time of year again when the evenings are getting longer, and our children have a spring in their step! The coaches and mentors at our club have been busy up-skilling during the winter months and are eagerly looking forward to imparting their new skills during the busy footballing season ahead.

Registration for football will be on Sunday February 11th at the Milltown/Castlemaine GAA clubhouse between 12 and 1.30 pm.

Drop off for the Swap Shop will be on Friday (February 9th) 6-6.30 pm and also on Saturday morning (February 10 Th) 10-10.30 at the club house.

At the registration, children will also be able to meet some of our coaches and swap any football gear or boots which they may have outgrown. There will also be some new club gear for sale on the day at knockdown prices.

The U-8 boys training has already started indoors at the Nagle Rice Centre and U-6 boys will start on this Saturday morning (Feb 10th) at 9:30a.m. also in the centre.

The outdoor Thursday evening sessions will begin in early April.

Membership for Under 6 boys and Under 6 girls is FREE. However, it is very important that every child registers with the club on February 11th -thus allowing them to participate in club activities throughout the year. Registration is also necessary for insurance purposes and it also ensures that we have sufficient mentors assigned to each age group.

Membership rates are as follows:
Adult €50,   Couple €80,  Family (Two Adults and all Children U-18) €100  U16/Student/OAP €30

As the club looks to develop new facilities to cater for the growing local population, we would ask you to consider our family membership. This entitles every family member to be entered into draws for tickets to Kerry games, including the All-Ireland Final (if Kerry are in it!)

You also get free entry into all home club league games in Milltown during the year. Most importantly, you are contributing to the growth of a very important outlet for children in our community.

We look forward to seeing you.

Scór Na bPáistí Quiz Selection.-Primary School Children

Our club is holding a quiz selection event, for Primary School Children, to form our Milltown / Castlemaine GAA Quiz Team for Scór na bPáistí. The selection quiz will be on Thursday the 8th of February in the GAA Clubrooms at 7 pm. Quiz should be completed by 8 p.m.

Depending on numbers, adults may not be able to remain in the room for the quiz -due to space restrictions. The top four participants will make up our team for the county final in March. We will also select two subs. Each child should bring a pencil and a hard cover book to the quiz -to write on.

Any queries can be made through the Club Facebook Page along with our cultural officer Danny Mc Clure via mobile on 087/6536631 or Deirdre O’Sullivan on 086/1703332.

PLEASE NOTE: Participants must be members of the club and live within the designated club boundaries.
