Mid Kerry under 21:

Congratulations to our Under 21’s who won by the narrowest of margins in their semi- final on Sunday last versus Laune Rangers. It was a thrilling game, played in beautiful sunshine.  Well done to both teams on a wonderful display of football.

In particular, we thank Pat O’ Connor, John O’ Brien and Paul Carroll for their work with this panel of players.

We wish Eoin O’ Brie a speedy recovery from an injury he sustained at the game.

The Mid Kerry U21 Championship Final is on this Sunday 11th Feb at 2pm. VENUE TO BE CONFIRMED

Mid Kerry Senior League-Round 1:

Our seniors (sponsored by Larkins Bar and Kelly’s Top Shop) play Cromane on Thursday February 8th at 8.30 in John Mitchels Pitch, Tralee.

All support for both games will be very much appreciated.

St. Colman’s Basket Ball:

It was a very successful weekend for our basket ballers with our Under 14 boys beating TK Vixens, Athea in the Division 3 Plate Final. The final score was 39/24.

These young boys, coached by Derry O’ Sullivan and Eamonn Prendiville have only been playing two years and have been making remarkable improvement on each outing.

The Girls U14 team from St. Colman’s also won their Division 3 Plate final on Saturday last after beating St.  Mary’s in the final which was played in the Moyderwell School, Tralee. They won their previous rounds against St Paul’s, Ballunion Wildcats and Caherciveen. Once again this is great achievement for the St. Coleman’s club who are only in their second year in the League.

Team was Kitty O’ Dowd, Alice Casey, Sarah Keane, Aine Scott, Emma Casey, Niamh Dinham, Cianna Foley, Sophie O’ Shea, Jemma Walsh, Amy Evans and  Katie Howe.

Kerry Sports Star Awards…..

On last Friday night, February 2nd, Callinafercy Rowing Club U16 girl’s crew were awarded their well-deserved Kerry Sports Star Award. Aoife Murphy, Orla Murphy, Sarah Kennedy and Grace O’ Grady are currently All Ireland coastal rowing champions after winning a very competitive race in Ballyshannon, Co.  Donegal last August. These girls only began rowing in 2016 and came 2nd in the All-Ireland in that year.

Huge credit goes to Chairperson John Joe O’ Sullivan who night after night continues to train these girls, always encouraging them. Special mention to coxes John Joe O’ Sullivan and Ciaran O’ Sullivan and all involved with Callinafercy R.C.
