Credit Union County Senior Football League: Division 2, Round 6 Fixture
Milltown/Castlemaine will resume their Credit Union County Senior Football League campaign next weekend when they welcome Glenbeigh/Glencar to the Paddy Burke Memorial Park in Milltown for a 6:15pm throw-in on Saturday, May 14th.

Credit Union County Senior Football League: Division 6A, Round 5 Result and Round 6 Fixture
Milltown/Castlemaine ‘B’ 2-12
Killarney Legion ‘B’ 0-11
A good win for our Senior ‘B’ side last Wednesday evening when they hosted Killarney Legion at the Paddy Burke Memorial Park which makes it five wins from five games in Division 6A.
On what was a lovely evening for a game, second half goals from Jono O’Connor and Jonathan O’Sullivan proved to be decisive as we ran out seven point winners in the end of a hard fought encounter.
The opening half had many tight exchanges with some great scores at either end from distance, Brendan Casey leading the charge for us up front ably assisted by Donal Kelliher, Liam Roche, John Dennehy, Jonathan O’Sullivan and Jono O’Connor in the forwards department. There was also some strong midfield and defensive performances to keep the away side at bay in the goal scoring stakes.
Well done to the players and management.

Round 6 takes place this coming weekend as Milltown/Castlemaine ‘B’ welcome Castleisland Desmonds ‘B’ to the Paddy Burke Memorial Park on Sunday, May 15th for a 2:00pm throw-in.

County Senior Development League: Division 3, Round 3 Result
Milltown/Castlemaine ‘C’ 3-11
Currow ‘B’ 3-12
Venue: Paddy Burke Memorial Park, Milltown
Hard luck to our Senior ‘C’ side who were very unlucky to come up short by a solitary point last Saturday evening as Currow ‘B’ kicked a late mark with the last kick of the contest to take home the victory in what it must be said was a great display by both teams in terrific conditions.
Currow led by one at the half time interval as well, 2-05 to 1-07. Brendan Delaney popping up with our first half goal to keep us in the contest along with some lovely pointed efforts from Conor Spillane, Linus Óg Burke, the aforementioned Delaney and Daniel Cronin.
Two further goals in the second half from Conor Spillane and Daniel Cronin seen us open up a 2-11 to 2-06 and 3-11 to 3-08 lead at various stages but Currow hung in their and finished strongest notching four points on the trot in the final ten minutes to run out victors.
Whilst our lads will be disappointed not to have got something from the game in the end after battling so hard, they can be very pleased with the level of performance all over the field from start to finish.
There will be two more games in the group stage of this competition against Waterville ‘B’ and Dromid Pearses ‘B’ so plenty of football to look forward to over the coming weeks.
