Credit Union County Senior Football League: Division 2, Round 6 Result and Round 7 Fixture
Milltown/Castlemaine ‘A’ hosted Glenbeigh/Glencar on Saturday last, May 13th in Round 6 of the Credit Union County Senior Football League.

The away side carried a two point lead into the half-time interval, leading 0-10 to 1-05, the Milltown/Castlemaine goal being very well taken by Cillian Burke. The visitors continued where they left off after half-time and ran out six point winners on a score of 0-20 to 1-11.

Milltown/Castlemaine are back in action in Round 7 on Sunday next, May 22nd when they take on Beaufort at 2:00pm in Beaufort.

Credit Union County Senior Football League: Division 6A, Round 6 Result and Round 7 Fixture
Milltown/Castlemaine ‘B’ were due to host Castleisland Desmonds ‘B’ on Sunday last, May 15th but this game was called off as the away side were unable to field a team.

Round 7 takes place this coming weekend as Milltown/Castlemaine ‘B’ are away to St. Michael’s Foilmore ‘B’. Date and time to be confirmed and will be posted on the clubs social media accounts.

Kelliher’s Toyota Central Region: Division 2, Round 2 Result and Round 3/4 Fixtures
Milltown/Castlemaine’s Minor side made it two wins from two games on Monday last, May 9th when they beat Glenbeigh/Glencar/Cromane away from home by three points, 3-09 to 3-06.

There will have no game this evening with two games instead next week in Round 3 and 4. On Monday next. May 23rd Milltown/Castlemaine will host An Ghaeltacht at 7:00pm in Round 4 whilst three days later on Thursday, May 26th they will be away to John Mitchels in a rescheduled Round 3 fixture with throw-in also at 7:00pm.

U-13 News:
Milltown/Castlemaine’s U-13 side will train this week on Tuesday and Friday at 6:00pm on the club field. There is no fixture pencilled in for this weekend as they await the Lee Strand County Football League Phase 2 fixtures.

Lee Strand U15 County Football League: Semi-Final Fixture

Milltown/Castlemaine’s U-15 side will have their rescheduled County Football League Semi-Final this Wednesday, May 18th as they take on Churchill at 7:00pm in Churchill. All support would be most welcome for the lads.

U-7 News:
Milltown/Castlemaine’s U-7 Boys team are away to Cromane on Sunday next, May 22nd in the Go Games Series at 10:00am. Training continues as normal during the week.

U-9s Go Games Series:
Our U-9 side will train as normal this week in advance of their Go Games Series continuing next week, Tuesday May 24th when they host Dr. Crokes in Round 4 at 6:30pm in the Paddy Burke Memorial Park, Milltown.

U-11s News:
Our U-11s side travelled to Ballyseedy, Tralee on Thursday last, May 12th as they concluded Phase 1 against John Mitchels in Round 5 of the Joe O’Connor/Tony Brosnan Group of the Go Games Series.

U-8 Girls:
Our Milltown/Castlemaine U-8 Girls welcomed Castleisland Desmonds to the Paddy Burke Memorial Park in Milltown on Monday last, May 9th for challenge games. It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening and many thanks to Castleisland for travelling.

Provisionally the U-8 Girls will travel to Castleisland on Sunday, July 10th at 10:30am for a return challenge match. More information to follow. Training for this week will take place on Tuesday, May 17th at the club grounds.

Congratulations:
All at Milltown/Castlemaine GAA Club would like to offer our sincere congratulations to Kerry GAA PRO and club member Leona Twiss who over the weekend was named public relations officer of the year by the Gaelic Games Writers’ Association.
She was presented with the award at a ceremony in Iveagh Gardens, Dublin for her outstanding work in leading the communications strategy for the GAA in The Kingdom.

Scór na bPaistí 2022: Reminder Quiz TOMORROW!
A Chairde, Scór na bPáistí is back! The club will hold this year’s Tráth na gCeist / Quiz in the Clubhouse on Tuesday May 17th at 7:30 pm. Register before 6:00pm this evening, Monday May 16th by contacting Caitríona on 085-1584456.  We welcome entries from primary school students of all ages who are club members.

The club also welcomes entrants for any of the following Scór na bPáistí competitions – registration details as above.

1.      Rince Foirne -Céile or Figure Dancing

2.      Amhránaíocht Aonair – Solo Singing

3.      Aithriseoireacht/Scéalaíocht – Recitation/Storytelling

4.      Bailéad Ghrùpa – Ballad Group

5.      Léiriú Stáitse – Stage Presentation

6.      Ceol Uirlise – Instrumental Music

7.      Rince Seit – Set Dancing

The dates for the CUL Camp have been confirmed. The website to register players for the camp is now OPEN 
Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camps provide boys and girls – between the ages of 6 and 13 – with an action-packed and fun-filled week of activity during the summer holidays which revolves around maximising enjoyment and sustaining participant involvement in Gaelic Games.

Milltown/Castlemaine GAA Club Membership 2022

Membership Due

Club membership is open to Adult Players, Adult Non-Players, Juvenile Players and Families and New Members are always welcome.

The monies received is funnelled towards the maintenance of facilities, playing equipment, affiliation fees, insurance, utility bills, team preparation and other administrative costs. Our GAA Club is reliant on all members paying their subscriptions to cover these running costs as the GAA at Central Level (Croke Park) or County Level do not provide grants, finance, or assistance to cover these general running costs.
