Kerry Petroleum Intermediate Club Football Championship: Round 3 Result

Milltown/Castlemaine travelled to Rathmore on Saturday evening, August 21st for Round 3 of the Kerry Petroleum Intermediate Club Football Championship and after a pulsating contest, our lads emerged victorious by the narrowest of margins, winning 1-10 to 0-12 in Rathbeg.
A late Eanna O’Connor free off the ground from 45 metres got us over the line in what was a real high intensity championship match.
Rathmore led by two at half time, 0-10 to 1-05 but our lads battled back hard in the second half and took home what was a well earned victory against the East Kerry men.
Milltown/Castlemaine Scorers:
Eanna O’Connor 0-6
Kieran McKenna 0-3
Cathal Moriarty 1-0
Jerome Flynn 0-1
Rathmore Scorers:
Chrissy Spiers 0-5
Shane Ryan 0-3
Paul Murphy 0-1
Brendan O’Keeffe 0-1

The group stage has now finished with Milltown/Castlemaine finishing in 3rd place. Rathmore topped the group on 4 points with Glenflesk coming 2nd (finishing ahead of Milltown/Castlemaine on score difference) and St Mary’s were 4th so will now enter the relegation playoff with the bottom team from the other three groups. Our lads had 1 win, 1 draw and 1 defeat from the group stage games. The top two sides, Rathmore and Glenflesk will now advance to the Quarter-Finals.
