Congratulations to all the footballers from our club who participated in the above competition recently in Milltown Castlemaine GAA Grounds.

In particular, we say well done to the winning team from St. Joseph’s School, Castlemaine who were winners on the day. All three boys are from our club- Ben Downes, John and Dara Hogan. Also from our club were Garrett O’Dowd and Darragh Kelliher who acquitted themselves very well representing Kiltallagh NS while Liam O’Dowd, Dara Clifford and Eoghan Daly flew the flag in style for Nagle Rice Primary School.

We wish the boys from St. Joseph’s all the best in the County Final on Friday in Austin Stack Park.

Under 12’s:

It seems if you want exciting, edge of your seat football these days then you need look no further than Sunday evenings with our U12 teams. A fantastic feast of football was served up again last Sunday evening in Moyvane.

The Milltown/Castlemaine White Team were a credit to their coaches as they put in a fantastic performance to win on this Bank Holiday Sunday evening. Some great football led to some impressive scoring as our visiting team ran out winners the final score reading Milltown/Castlemaine U12 (White Team) 5-14 V 5-04 Moyvane.

Equally as impressive was the Milltown/Castlemaine Green Teams effort against their North Kerry opponents. A fantastic show of teamwork brought a great spirited performance from our U12s and the match ended level. This team no strangers to tight battles in recent weeks are the ones to watch if you’re comfortable on the edge of your seat. Final score Milltown/Castlemaine U12 (Green Team) 4-13 V 4-13 Moyvane.

Well done to all teams, coaches and officials on a great evening of football. A big thank you as always to our Coiste Na nÓg Sponsors Foley’s Spar and Burke’s Butchers. (By Danny McClure)
