Sympathy:

There was much sadness in our community on Saturday last, with the news of the death of Breda Larkin McCarthy . We extend our deepest sympathy to her husband Mike and her children James and Caitriona as well as the extended Larkin McCarthy and Lyne families. The Larkin- McCarthy family has always been great supporters of the club over the years. Breda was fondly regarded near and far and will be sadly missed. RIP.

Get well wishes are extended to all those from our community who are ill at this time. We also remember all those who are caring for them.

Debutantes:
Congratulations to all our students who celebrated their ‘debs’ over the past few weeks. We hope you had a wonderful time celebrating!

Kerry South:

A great result was had by Kerry South on their return to Waterford for the finals of the Jim Power Cup on Saturday last. Following victories over Tipperary and Waterford in the early rounds Kerry South faced a strong North Cork team, in the final.
Following a great display of skill and determination Kerry South emerged victorious on a score line of 3-7 to 2-2. This was a great result considering they had lost to the same opposition in the earlier rounds three weeks ago.
Great credit goes to all the players including Milltown / Castlemaine’s Conor Spillane who performed very well on the day.a special mention to our own clubman David Heasman who managed this group of young footballers. Well done David.

U-12 Blitz Páirc Ui Chaoimh Stadium:
Our Under 12’s  have been invited to participate in an U-12 Tournament in Cork on Wednesday August 8th. They will arrive in Páirc Ui Chaoimh at 1:30; games start at 14:00 and finish by 15:00. They will also have a meet and greet with a guest player along with a stadium Tour which starts at 15:15. Not many players get to play in Croke Park, Fitzgerald Stadium & Páirc Ui Chaoimh in the same year so this is a wonderful opportunity for all our young footballers.  Huge credit must go to Liam Doherty, manager of the under 12 team for organising this day out.

Under 12’s:
Both our under 12 teams once again gave a brilliant display of football on Friday evening last against Beaufort . Our White team were on the losing side however, on a score-line of  4/16 to 2/03. The Green team were victorious on a score-line of 4/24 to 4/03. A huge well done to all involved with these young boys.
On Friday next, August 3rd, they will continue in the Mid Kerry league with a home game versus Keel. The throw in is at 7 pm.

All Ireland under 16 girls:

Hard luck to Clodagh Evans and Ella Teahan from our club, who were part of the Kerry under 16 team that were defeated by  Galway on Wednesday last in extra time in  the All-Ireland Final. Both girls put in tremendous performances throughout the campaign and no doubt are ones to look out for in the future. Well done to you both and to your coaches at both club and county level.

Gaelic for Mothers and Others(GMAO)

There was huge delight on Tuesday last when the GMAO announced that Kieran Flynn Bus Hire had so generously sponsored them a set of jerseys. As a group we are so thrilled to have our very own set of jerseys which we will wear with pride at our games. A lot of thought has one into designing our new jerseys with Gerdie Murphy, Castleisland. We have many challenge games arranged for the up-coming weeks in preparation for our All Ireland Blitz in Portmarnock in October. Sincere thanks to Kieran.

We are now looking ahead to the All-Ireland Blitz in Portmarnock in October
