Get well:

The club would like to wish our senior player, Shane Murphy, all the best in his upcoming cruciate surgery.

Shane has been a loyal and committed player to our club for many years, regularly commuting from Cork for both training sessions and games twice weekly over the past 10 years.

Your skill and experience has certainly been missed over the past few weeks and we look forward to seeing you back on the field of play in the not too distant future.

Fun Football :

The parents of our underage children were treated to a 3 D presentation of our up -coming field development, on Thursday evening last at the clubrooms. For those who were unable to make it, we will repeat it in the coming weeks again.

Children’s Choir:

The children’s choir will resume singing on Sunday September 9th at the 11.15 am mass in Milltown. We have had many members from our club involved in both music and song over the past ten years, making our Sunday masses really special. We welcome children from senior infants upwards to our registration/first practice on Thursday September 6th , in Milltown Church- commencing at 5.30 p.m. and ending at 6.15 p.m. sharp. Further details from Deirdre on 086/1703332.

Blitz:

Some fantastic fun was had at our blitz in Austin Stacks on Sunday morning- with our Under 6,8 and 10 boys and girls all getting lots of game time.
Special thanks to Austin Stacks for organising and hosting it and to the trainers for all their work with the boys and girls.
It was also lovely to see so many parents there supporting their children.

Milltown Castlemaine Juniors:
Well done to the Milltown/Castlemaine Junior side (kindly sponsored by Kelly’s Londis, Topshop and Larkins Bar and Restaurant) who travelled to Brosna on Friday evening last in the Barrett Cup and returned home with a very good victory in the end at 1-13 to 0-8.

Milltown/Castlemaine Panel was as follows: (No Particular Order, 16 players)
Jonathan O’Sullivan, Derek Twiss, Adam Scanlon, Linus Burke, Damian Murphy, Nigel Wren, Dara O’Connor, Killian Kerins, Padraig O’Reilly, Linus Og Burke, Cathal O’Connor, Sean O’Dea, Patrick O’Connor, Colin McKenna, Thady O’Sullivan & Aaron O’Brien

We led by a solitary point at 0-7 to 0-6 at half time but a commanding 2nd half display which culminated in some lovely attacking football coupled with tireless defensive work which kept Brosna to only 2 points in the 2nd half. This propelled us into the next round of the Barrett Cup where we will find out our opponents in the days to come.

Great effort shown by all the management team, players & supporters in attendance tonight!(By Dara O’ Connor)

Senior County Championship:

Congratulations to Mid Kerry on a fantastic win over An Ghaeltacht in Round I of the above competition on Saturday evening last. In particular well done to their trainer Paul Carroll, Gary Murphy who was a selector and to our own club players who were part of the panel: David Roche, Gavin Horan, Cormac Leane, Stephen Roche and Ciaran O’ Connor.
