Mid Kerry Senior Championship:

Best of luck to our seniors in their semi final encounter with Glenbeigh Glencar Cromane on Saturday next in Beaufort. They will be hoping to secure a place in the final versus Laune Rangers, who defeated Beaufort on Saturday.

Gaelic 4 Mothers and Others:

The Milltown Castlemaine Mothers and Others has just returned from their All Ireland blitz in Portmarnock, where over 2,500 ladies from all over Ireland participated in this magnificent event. A fantastic time was had by all.

Congratulations to Elaine O’ Sullivan (Mangan) who was our ‘top scorer’ at the blitz and to Kasia Keane who won the ‘most improved player’. Helen Enright was awarded a trophy for  ‘the best craic and keeping us all smiling’! The girls were presented with their awards at an after dinner celebration in Portmarnock Hotel on Saturday night. Special thanks to Adele and Glenda for setting up this club and for organising all our games/ training sessions.

We also want to thank our coaches Lorraine O’ Sullivan, Linus Burke and Ailis Murphy who travelled to Portmarnock  for the blitz and to our other coaches Tanya Joy, Jamie Courtney and Emma Tagney for all their work with us since last May.

Huge progress was made on the field and great friendships formed off the field. Thanks to one of our players Lorraine Wall, (Sports and Beauty Therapist) who had personalised goodie bags for us all and to Zita Burke for her delicious home baking.

Sincere thanks to Kieran Flynn-Bus Hire –who sponsored us our very own set of jerseys. We were delighted to avail of Kieran’s bus service for our trip to Portmarnock -as a tiny thank you for his generosity.
