Under 16-Mid Kerry Championship:

Hard luck to our Under 16’s who were beaten by Keel Listry on Sunday afternoon last –in the above competition. They say goals win games and there was no shortage of same in this encounter. Keel Listry slotted in 5 and Milltown Castlemaine had 2 of their own. Were it not for a man of the match performance by M/C keeper, Jack Griffin, who pulled off some magnificent saves, the number could have been much higher. Shane O’ Connor, Jack Teahan, Evan O’ Sullivan and Cathal Daly commanded a great full back line with Pat O’ Sullivan, Oisin O’ Connor and Anthony Kelliher ably assisting in the half backs.

Cillian Burke and Seamus Nagle showed plenty of skill at centre field with some excellent fielding. Our half forwards Liam Roche, Conor Spillane and Anthony Barrett combined well along with their inside forwards- Tom Keane, Cathal Barrett and Brendan Casey, setting up and converting some fantastic scores. Well done to Keel Listry on an excellent performance and to Milltown Castlemaine –who despite being a very young side- put in a super effort and never gave up. Best wishes to Adam Lenihan from Milltown Castlemaine for a speedy recovery from his recent injury. Special thanks to Mike Burke and David Heasman for all their work with this group of players.
