Gardaí in Kenmare are investigating following a fatal traffic collision today.
Shortly before midday, a male aged in his 50s was seriously injured when his motorcycle collided with a car. The collision occurred on the N70, between Kenmare and Sneem, at Lackeen, Blackwater.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later. The occupants of the car were uninjured.
The road is currently closed and local traffic diversions are in place. Garda Forensic Collision Investigators have been requested to attend the scene and the local Coroner has been notified.
