OVER the last few years ‘Movember’ has been fixture to liven up the dreary month before the Christmas madness begins.

Hordes of men (and perhaps some women too) grow a ‘muzzy’ all in aid of Cancer.

The efforts of the eight male employees of the Mall Tavern during ‘Movember’ came to full fruition on Wednesday afternoon when they handed over a cheque of €500 to Recovery Haven.

“We are very grateful for all these lads for their initiative. These amounts are of great benefit to Recovery Haven,” said Eileen Kennedy of Recovery Haven.

“We have a few things coming up in the near future. Our next major event will be a fashion show in the first week of February, so we’re in the process of organising that at the moment,” said Eileen.

“All the donations we get are gratefully received. If people can raise money in a fun way, that’s even better. We’ll put it to good use,” said Eileen.

The sum of money raised by the ex-moustachioed men in the Mall Tavern will go towards the men’s group in Recovery  Haven and paying for the counselling of children who have been affected by cancer.
