MOYDERWELL pupils travelled back in time to medieval Tralee as part of a schools competition that celebrates the town’s 800th anniversary this year.
Around 60 third and fifth class pupils took part with some decked out in the garb of the middle ages. The pupils also created their very own miniature castles as part of the project.
The pupils learned about life in Tralee and the castles that fortified the town during the period. Along with finding out more about the history of Tralee, kids also brushed up on their painting and building skills.
The Kerry County Council-led competition will be run alongside this years Féile na mBláth Festival which will be held over the June 17 to 19 weekend. All schools in Tralee were encouraged to take park.
