Seniors   Na Gaeil travelled to Paddy Kennedy Memorial Park in Annascaul on Saturday evening to take on the home team in round 4 of the County League. With Na Gaeil playing against the breeze Darragh Carmody opened the scoring with a pointed free on 7 minutes which was quickly followed by a point from Annascaul.

Jamie Lowham scored a good point for Na Gaeil on 12 minutes followed by another Darragh Carmody pointed free. Annascaul fired over the next two points to leave the score level at three points apiece after 20 minutes.

Darragh Carmody had another point from a placed ball which was cancelled out by an Annascaul point. Andrew Barry scored for Na Gaeil and Annascaul had the last score of the half to leave the sides level at half time at 5 points each.

Annascaul got off to a dream start in the second half scoring two goals in quick succession. Na Gaeil struggled to get to grips with the game.

Annascaul put two more points on the board before Andrew Barry scored a great goal in the 23rdminute to give Na Gaeil a lifeline. David Culloty and Eoin O’Neill scored two good points for Na Gaeil but unfortunately time ran out and Annascaul were deserving winners on the night. Final score: Na Gaeil 1-07; Annascaul 2-08.

Na Gaeil v Listowel, U12 Ladies County League Div 3,

We played away to Listowel on Tuesday evening. We started brightly with an early point from Siun. Listowel were a strong team and got themselves a couple of goals with their tall full forward. Siun, Siena and Caoilinn got us another 4 points to close the gap. Listowel scored another goal before we scored another 2 points from Caoilinn after Chloe and Grace worked together to win the ball back.

We had a couple of goals disallowed with another couple of good saves from the Listowel keeper from Siena, Katie and Sorcha. Niamh, Priya, Ava and Roisin were marking tight in the backs and we had Listowel on the ropes at this stage with Aisling, Aoife and Elsie Peg able to push forward to keep the pressure on Listowel.

Caoilinn scored a goal before more points from Aoife Barrett, Sorcha and another 2 points from Caoilinn with the help of Jessie, Aoife Hartnett and Caoimhe. But unfortunately Listowel managed to score a late goal to win the game. We played well and on another night and a little bit more luck, our shots on goal would have gone in and might have won the game.

Team: Katie Casey, Niamh Ryan, Ava Rice, Roisin O’Mahony, Elsie Peg Rogers, Aoife Barrett, Aisling Casey, Cara Gannon, Sorcha Casey, Caoilinn O’Brien, Siena Lucey, Aoife Hartnett, Chloe Quillinan, Grace Savage, Siun Fitzgibbon, Caoimhe Fernane, Jessie Grealish, Priya O’Donovan
