Na Gaeil Annual Cycle    Na Gaeil Annual Cycle is fast approaching. It takes place on Saturday August 26th and is always a great day’s fun for everybody that takes part. Cyclists have a choice of two routes.

The 40km cycle starts at the clubhouse in Killeen and goes to Castleisland and back. The 80km cycle also starts in Killeen and goes through Castleisland, Abbeyfeale, Duagh, Listowel and back to Killeen.

There will be soup, sandwiches and refreshments provided for everybody in the clubhouse at the end of the cycle. Early registration is available at the clubhouse currently or you can register on the day from 7.30am to 9.30am. The cycle begins at 9.30am.

The cost for Cycling Ireland members is €20 for an adult; €10 for U16’s and €50 for a family. For non Cycling Ireland members the cost is €25 for an adult, €10 for U16’s and €60 for a family.

However non Cycling Ireland members can avail of the discount if they register before August 19th. We look forward to seeing you all take part!

County League Round 10    Na Gaeil play Dromid Pearses at home in Killeen in Round 10 of the County League this Saturday August 12th at 7pm.

U6    The relentless rain did not deter our future stars from togging out on Sunday last. The group practiced their bouncing and kicking and finished off the session with some running drills. Training continues on Thursday at 6.30pm.

Well Done    Congrats to Diarmuid O’Connor, Ryan O’Neill and the Kerry Minor team that defeated Louth in the All Ireland Quarter Final in Portlaoise on Saturday. They now look forward to meeting Cavan in the All Ireland semi final hopefully on August 20th in Croke Park.

Well done also the Kerry Junior team and their manager Jimmy Keane after their great victory over Meath in the All Ireland Final also in Portlaoise on Saturday last.

Best of Luck    We wish Fergal Barry and the Kerry U17 team the best of luck in the All Ireland U17 football semi final against Roscommon in Ennis on Saturday next August 12th at 2pm.

Clothes Collection    Na Gaeil are holding a fundraising clothes collection over the next few weeks. If anyone has bags of old clothes to dispose of please drop them up to the clubhouse when it suits you. It would be much appreciated.

Na Gaeil Cycling Club    Na Gaeil Cycling Club is now up and running with its summer schedule: Monday and Wednesday evenings at 6.30pm and Saturday mornings at 9am from the clubhouse. ALL ARE WELCOME, high vis essential.

Fir na Gaeil     Light Football Training for Men who have retired from playing football and for those that have not played and would like to try it out. Very little skill is required. This is a great way to keep fit with light training, ball games and a bit of a laugh. Contact Eddie at 0876791460 for more info. Indoor Core Training on Mondays from 7.00 to 8.00 in the gym and Friday nights from 7.30 to 8.30pm in the I.T.

Mná na Gaeil     We are a Gaelic for Mothers and Others team who come together and do a bit of exercise, football training and socialising.

Anyone who would like to join are most welcome, No skills are required, just a good attitude and a sense for fun. We are now doing indoor Core work for the winter on Wednesday and Sunday evenings.  Contact Eddie at 0876791460 for more info.

Lotto   The draw for the jackpot of €3,200 took place on Tuesday evening last. Numbers drawn were 4, 6, 12, 22.There was no winner. €50 winners were Josie O’Hehir, Doon and Phyllis O’Herlihy, Ballyvelly. €25 winners were Tom O’Connor, C/O Bar, Senan Ross, Chestnut Drive, Seán O’Connor, C/O Bar, Mossie Lane, Abbeyfeale.. Next week’s lotto is worth €3,300. All are welcome for the draw in the club each Tuesday night at 10.30pm.

Bingo    Bingo is on every Monday night at 8.30pm sharp. We have prize money of over €1,000 guaranteed every week with a mini jackpot that increases fortnightly when not won.  A door prize and a half-time raffle with lovely prizes will also take place every week.

A bus service is available at 087 2817577.  You can ring this number for pick up and drop off.  100% of the funds raised go back directly into the club. The bingo is run on a total voluntary basis.

A huge thank you to all the parents who offer their time to run this vital fundraiser for the club.  If anyone wants to donate a spot prize for our weekly bingo raffle, please leave it at use and mark it “Bingo”. Thanks to all our patrons who support this event on a weekly basis.

Cards   A card game is held every Wednesday night in the clubhouse. This is a very sociable occasion where you meet your friends for a great night’s entertainment.
