U10    Last Sunday we hosted Fr. Casey’s from Abbeyfeale in a challenge game. We had two teams on the day so everyone got plenty of game time in which to display their skills. Well done everyone.

Thank you to the parents who provided sandwiches & cakes on the day as well as Fergal Barry who refereed for us.

Training takes place again next Thursday at 6.30pm. We may have another challenge game next Sunday so watch out for more details during the week. Please remember that it’s essential that every player wears their mouth guard at all training sessions and games.

U6 & U8    It was a busy Sunday for Na Gaeil last week as we hosted the under 6 and 8 teams from Fr. Casey’s,  Abbeyfeale.

Both age groups fielded two teams and experienced two very competitive matches where all players did themselves proud. A huge thank you to Fr. Casey’s for travelling and to the parents of the Na Gaeil players for putting on a mighty spread once the final whistle had blown. Training continues on Thursday at 6.30pm sharp.

Na Gaeil Ladies    Na Gaeil Ladies U14 v Listowel, North Kerry League.

We played at home on Tuesday evening. We started brightly with Ciara and Sarah exchanging a couple of points each.

Our defence of Kelsey, Megan and Grace conceded 1 point in the 1st half with Aoife in outstanding form in goals. Emma Dewey, Eimer and Cara left nothing past and gave Freya and Sarah the licence to get forward and score a few more points each.

Wiktoria set up Siena for a goal with Jessica and Emma Savage combining to get Caoilinn to score a goal. We finished the game strongly to win comprehensively.

Na Gaeil Ladies U14 v Finuge/St Senans, North Kerry League.

We played in Finuge in damp conditions on Sunday evening. Finuge started the strongest scoring an early goal and point.

We were struggling defensively and we were being over-run by a strong Finuge/Senans team. We got a point through Sarah but Finuge hit back again scoring 2 quick goals. Ciara and Freya combined to score a point apiece but again we got hit on the counter and conceded yet another goal.

Half time couldn’t come fast enough. Finuge/St Senans started the brighter again scoring an early point but we started to take control with Eimer, Emma and Cara pushing hard on their forwards and stopped giving them space.

Kayleigh, Megan, Kelsey and Wiktoria were winning their battles. Adelina came in and helped shore them the defence. Sarah and Muire got us a goal apiece and Siena scored another goal. Points from Ciara, Muire, Caoilinn, Sarah and Freya brought us right back into the game with Jessica and Emma Savage making good runs.

We were running out of time and were down by a point. Finuge/St Senans made a breakout from our onslaught but Kayleigh made a great tackle but was given as a free from the edge of the box. Senans took it quickly giving Aoife no chance to save it. The whistle was blown on the kick out but we put up a great comeback and finished the stronger team but unfortunately ran out of time.

Team: Megan Fernane, Kayleigh Murphy, Kelsey O’Mahony, Emma Dewey, Eimer O’Sullivan, Cara Grealish, Sarah Barrett, Freya O’Connor, Muire Kingston, Wiktoria Kania, Ciara Rath, Caoilinn O’Brien, Jessica Harrington, Siena Lucey, Aoife Barrett, Adelina Kastrati, Emma Savage, Grace Savage.

Na Gaeil Ladies U12 v Ballymac ‘A’, Tralee Town League Div 1

We played against a very strong Ballymac team on Tuesday evening. Ballymac started with the wind and took good advantage and scored a few points.

We struggling to get the ball to our forwards as Ballymac were putting great pressure on us. Elizabeth in goals though was superb with her saves and kick outs. Shania, Aoife and Niamh left no player run through on goals and kept Ballymac to long kicks only.

Siena and Caoilinn got a point a piece after good runs from Cara and Sorcha. Siun, Elsie Peig, Chloe and Roisin were being marked tight. We went in at half time with a mountain to climb but we started the 2nd half brightly with a point from Caoilinn after Katie won a high ball in.

Priya, Caoimhe and Maja came into the defence and we started to claw back the score line with more points from Siena and Caoilinn. Eve, Jessie and Aoife came into the forwards as we were putting on real pressure as Grace, Aisling and Ava were pushing forward.

More points from Aisling, Siena and Caoilinn got us within touching distance of Ballymac but they scored a great goal near the end giving Haley no chance in goals to save it. It was a terrific and gutsy performance from all our girls who battled all the ways to the end.

Team: Hayley Buckley, Katie Casey, Niamh Ryan, Ava Rice, Roisin O’Mahony, Elsie Peig Rogers, Aoife Barrett, Aisling Casey, Cara Gannon, Sorcha Casey, Caoilinn O’Brien, Siena Lucey, Aoife Hartnett, Chloe Quillinan, Grace Savage, Elizabeth Burke, Caoimhe Fernane, Jessie Grealish, Eve Broderick, Shania McCarthy, Siun Fitzgibbon, Priya O’Donovan, Maja Cieslak.
