Bord na nÓg AGM    Na Gaeil Bórd na nÓg held their AGM last weekend. Officers elected were Chairperson Colm Ó’Súilleabháin, Vice-chairperson Ros Fitzgerald, Secretary John Keating, Treasurer Cathy Carey.

Colm in his chairperson’s  report gave a fine account of activities that took place last year but concentrated chiefly on his hopes for next year.

Having been declared Juvenile Club of the year for 2017 was the icing on the cake for the past season as it confirmed that the members are getting things right. This will encourage teams, parents, officers and club members generally to continue the work that has to go in to running a successful club in football, Scór and various social activities.

As luck would have it there was a presentation for our minors of 2017, Diarmuid and Ryan all Ireland medal winners and Fergal who was on the first ever under 17 Kerry minor team. Colm emphasised that all three had graduated from our own under 6 team.

John Keating gave a rundown on all games played last year and pointed out that Na Gaeil competed successfully at all age levels with under 16 winning the Co. League Div2 and the town board league, under 14 won Co. Div 2 league and St Brendan’s board league.

Kerry Minor Presentation    A presentation was made to our three Kerry Minors Diarmuid O’Connor, Ryan O’Neill and Fergal Barry in Na Gaeil Clubhouse on Friday night last. The Tommy Markham Cup was also present and a great night was had by all.

Diarmuid, Ryan and Fergal started learning their footballing skills from the age of 6 in the club and it is testament to their sheer dedication and the great under age structure in the club that they have achieved so much with club and county. They are great role models for all the young players in Na Gaeil and we wish all the best in the future.

As anyone who attended The Wedding last January will confirm, a fantastic night’s entertainment is guaranteed! Keep an eye on these notes for more details over the coming weeks.
