Seniors    Na Gaeil play Ardfert away in round 2 of the County League this Sunday March 25th at 2pm. They play Listowel in the first round of the Premier Junior Championship the following Saturday March 31st in Mountcoal at 5.30pm.

U12    We had a very good turnout of lads at our training last Sunday despite the freezing conditions. That was our last session in the Complex. Next Sunday we start training on the pitch in Na Gaeil at 11am. Don’t forget to bring warm clothes, mouth guard and water. Our first game in the U12 county league is fixed for Sunday April 8th at 6pm away to Keel. Registration is also due to be paid so if players haven’t done so already we’d ask that they do so as soon as possible please. We always welcome new players so if you’d like to give football a go why not come along next Sunday & try it out.

U10    Boys U10 training returns to Killeen next Sunday morning. Be there for 10:00am. New members welcome to come along, registration will be taking place.
Don’t forget your gum-shields and water. See you all there!

Na Gaeil Ladies    In wintry snowy conditions, we played at home to Castleisland Desmonds in the Senior County League. Desmonds scored an early 2 points as it took us a few minutess to settle but Meagan scored a point from a free followed quickly with a goal from Meabh. Meagan and Meabh scored a point apiece after some good work from Carla and Clodagh McHugh.

Ayesha scored a goal after Eilis and Kate Anne set her up. Meagan scored another 2 points with Jadyn getting the final point of the half with Mags setting her up. As the 2nd half started, Clodagh O’ Connor won the ball from a long kick in, found Susan who laid it off to Nora to get the ball forward, laid the ball off to Ayesha to score her 2nd goal of the game.

Nora made another good run forward as Meabh played her in and scored a fine point from distance. From the kick out, Caoimhe won the ball and had a shot deflected for a 45’. From the resulting 45’, Meagan took it, kicked it high and on target, finding the back of the net. Desmonds rallied for a few minutes midway through the 2nd half, scoring 2 quick points and Laura saving a penalty but that was the last scores they had as there was some great defending from Caragh, Ria and Sarah along with the experience of Kate Anne, Muireann, Eilis and Susan and we were able to Keep Desmonds at bay.

We were able to bring on fresh legs with Freya coming into defence. Dearbhla, Eimer and Muire came into the forwards and with Nora and Jadyn bossing midfield, we were able to finish the game strongly with more points from Meagan, Ayesha and Jadyn. Another great performance and result. Final Score 4.10 to 1.05.

Best of Luck to Mary O’Connell and the Kerry Ladies U16’s as they play their 1st game away to Tipperary. Na Gaeil Ladies U12’s start their North Kerry League campaign next weekend away to Kerins O’Rahillys, time to be confirmed.

One Murder & a Christening    We’re delighted to announce that, due to popular demand, the hugely successful comedy/drama, One Murder and a Christening, penned by Mary Quirke, will make a welcome return to the stage.

The date for this extra performance is Thursday the 29th March and the venue, as before, is the club hall.To say that the previous two shows, on the 23rd and 24th February, were well received is an understatement of gargantuan proportions! People left the hall both nights with pains in their faces and sides from laughing so hard, and the recurring comment afterwards was that they would come again to see it if they could and recommend it highly to friends and family.

On that basis then, a decision was reached to go with a re-run. Obviously, this is a great club event, but we’d like to emphasise that it’s an occasion to be enjoyed by all, and you certainly don’t have to be affiliated to Na Gaeil to come along and savour the hilarity of this eventful comedy!!

Tickets for this over 18’s only show are now on sale in the club but be quick, because if the last performances are anything to go by, they won’t be there long!!

Tesco Tokens    Starting on Monday March 19th and for the next six weeks Na Gaeil will be one of three community organisations to benefit from the Tesco Blue Tokens. At the end of the six weeks Tesco will share €1000 between the three organisations. The amount of tokens collected by each group will determine the size of their share. So get shopping to Tesco and voting for Na Gaeil with the tokens. Ní neart go cur le chéile!
