Race Night     There was a great crowd in Na Gaeil Clubhouse on Friday for the Annual Race Night. It was a great occasion with nine races on the card, tote facilities, raffle prizes galore and a best dressed lady and gent competition.

This fundraiser was very well supported by the local business community through sponsoring races, raffle prizes or purchasing horses. We thank them all most sincerely for their generosity and support.

Thanks also to our club members for their huge support of this event. Best dressed lady was won on the night by Lucy Crowe and best dressed gent was won by Eddie Sheehy.

Thanks to our judge Pat Meehan. The funds raised will go towards catering for all the teams both male and female in our ever expanding club and also towards the cultural activities that our members are involved in.

A big thank you to Donal Lucy and his hard working committee for organising the event and to all who helped out on Friday.

Terry McEneaney and Donal were excellent MC’s, Brian O’Shea made sure there were no technical difficulties and Sean and Cathy served up delicious food for everyone. All in all a fantastic night was had by all.

Na Gaeil Awards Night     Na Gaeil’s Annual Medal Presentation took place in Na Gaeil on Sunday evening last. A huge crowd of juvenile boys attended with all of whom were treated to a sit down meal.

Thanks to Cathy, Margaret, Therese, Agnes, Eileen and Mary for all their help and all others who helped behind the scenes.

The Tommy Markham cup was in attendance and again we had a representative on this year’s All Ireland winning team: namely Devon Burns. Thanks also to Na Gaeil Senior and Kerry Players Jack Barry and Diarmuid O’Connor for giving up their time to present the medals.

Our Juvenile Chairman Colm O ‘Suileabháin welcomed all in attendance and thanked all in the Club for their efforts throughout the year, both on and off the field.

Na Gaeil Club is getting stronger every year and there are many unsung heroes in the background most especially the parents who encourage their children to train and play. We had numerous photographs taken of the memorable evening.

All the winning teams got their Co League medals which were presented to us at the recent AGM. U12 A: Joint winners Div 4A; U14 Winners Div3; U16 Winners Div 1; Minors Winners Div 2 .

Congratulations to all who received their medals and hard luck to all those who missed out this year.

Every year our club is getting bigger and as was mentioned last night although success is welcome it is not always a measure of a successful club especially at Juvenile level where learning new skills, making new friends, participation and enjoyment is paramount.

We wish all the boys the best for the season ahead and hopefully they will all enjoy their break and come back eager to represent the club again next year.  Na Gaeil Abú!

U12    The players, their parents & the U12 boys mentors would like to say a big “Thank You” to the wonderful ladies in the club especially Margaret Doody, Cathy Carey& Agnes Sheehy who provided hot food for our group last Sunday at our awards night in the clubhouse.  It was really appreciated by all of us.

Congrats    Heartiest congratulations to Beaufort on winning the Munster Junior Football Final in Mallow yesterday. It was much like the County final against Na Gaeil. Well done and best of luck in the All Ireland semi final in January.
