Junior Championship   Na Gaeil play Firies in the first round of the Premier Junior Championship on Sunday April 7th at 1.30pm in Austin Stack Park. It should be a great game of football so come out and support the team.

League Final   It was great honour for Na Gaeil Club to see two of their players Jack Barry and Diarmuid O’Connor starting at midfield for Kerry in the National League Final in Croke Park on Sunday and a great occasion for both players and their families.

Unfortunately things didn’t go Kerry’s way on this occasion but it was a great learning curve for this bunch of young Kerry players and they can look forward to the upcoming championship with confidence.

Na Gaeil Ladies    We played in Beaufort on Sunday in the U14 Division 3 County League in warm conditions. Beaufort got off to a better start scoring 1.02 without reply as we struggled to settle. Cara made a deep run from midfield and found Gráinne who settled us with a well taken point.

We now started to take control of the game with another point from Caoilinn. Beaufort scored another point before Siena combined with Aisling to get Cara through on goal and she found the back of the net to leave us trailing at half time by a single point. Beaufort g made a flying start to the 2nd half scoring three points in a row but that was to be their last of the half as Elizabeth started to find her range of kicking. Aoife and Priya harassed and gave the Beaufort forwards no more space as Aisling and Elizabeth Slattery started to clear up around the half back line.

Siun played in Caoilinn for our 1st goal of the 2nd half. It was quickly followed by a goal from Cashla after a great pass by Siena. Siena popped a point over the bar after Elizabeth found Siena in space. We finished off the game with Caoilinn scoring 1.01. Final score: Na Gaeil: 4-04; Beaufort: 1-06.

Team: Elizabeth Burke, Priya O’Donovan, Aoife Barrett, Elizabeth Slattery, Aisling Casey, Siun Fitzgibbon, Cara Gannon, Siena Lucey, Caoilinn O’Brien, Gráinne Breen, Cashla Mullen.
