Na Gaeil GAA Club News

WE hope everybody in our community is keeping well. Phase One easing of the restrictions seems to be working well.

It’s great that family members up to a maximum of four can meet outdoors and that the weather has been suitable for this. This social interaction has been a very healthy addition to peoples’ lives. Also the opening up of garden centres and hardware stores means that we can all do some gardening and DIY work around our homes and avail of the wonderful weather we’re having.

Phase 2 easing of restrictions is only around the corner on June 8th when we can travel up to 20Km from our place of residence and enjoy a drive in the lovely summer countryside.

It’s fantastic to see how compliant the vast majority of our population is in abiding by the restrictions and keeping their social distance at all times. People are very calm and relaxed while in queues outside shops and have embraced the new norm without difficulty. In the meantime keep safe and stay positive.

Na Gaeil Bingo    Na Gaeil Bingo Committee would like to wish all our bingo patrons the very best during the Covid 19 Pandemic. We wish you and your families continued good health and we look forward to seeing you all when we are permitted to resume our weekly bingo. Ní neart go cur le chéile

Comedy Scetch    A premiere of short comedy sketch by Qwerkyquips written by Mary Quirke and starring Sorcha Uí Shúilleabháin and Helen Sugrue can be viewed on the link below. We would really appreciate it if you could please like and share. Thankshttps://www.facebook.com/112119300495637/videos/616346785623255/

Juveniles    We hope that all our juvenile players are doing well and not finding the restrictions too taxing. The latest news coming through from GAA President John Horan informs us that groups of four players will not be allowed to gather in our pitches to train as previously stated on the government road map of re-opening phases. So for the moment we will have to continue training and practicing our skills in the back garden with members of our family.

Sympathy    We offer our sincere sympathy to the Spillane family on the sad passing of Mossie last week.  Mossie was part of the Austin Stack Park staff for over forty years and was always very obliging and accommodating to players, management and supporters of every club in the county that played at the venue. He was an ardent Kerry supporter and very popular with all the Kerry players and management teams.  Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

Club Activities Suspended    As you know all club activities are suspended until further notice. The pitch and the gym are closed until further guidelines are released by the government and the GAA.

Clubhouse    The clubhouse will be closed for the foreseeable future. This means that our Monday night bingo, Tuesday night lotto and Wednesday night card playing are suspended indefinitely as well as all other activities that normally took place there on a weekly basis.

Clothes Collection    There is now a Clothes Collection Bin situated in Na Gaeil car park for use by all members of the public.
